Help & Safety

Safety & Care Standards

The practical standards used to prepare for visits, protect private information, communicate concerns, and make safety-first care decisions.

Fit and care review

First-time clients complete a Meet & Greet before care is confirmed. Arcana reviews routines, temperament, handling needs, household conditions, and whether the requested service can be provided safely.

Home access and privacy

Keys, codes, addresses, care notes, and household information are used only to provide authorized services. Clients must provide working access and report changes promptly. Sensitive access details are not displayed publicly.

Health and medication boundaries

Clients must disclose current medical needs and provide clear written instructions. Medication support is limited to tasks Arcana can safely perform. Arcana does not diagnose, prescribe, or replace veterinary care.

Weather-aware care

Heat, storms, poor air quality, ice, unsafe surfaces, or other hazards may require a shorter walk, indoor enrichment, a delayed visit, or rescheduling. Pet and caretaker safety take priority.

Updates and incident reporting

Arcana communicates visit updates and reports material health, behavior, access, or safety concerns as soon as practical. Published report cards and media are available only to the appropriate client.

Emergency response

Arcana first attempts to contact the client and designated emergency contact. If they cannot be reached and urgent attention is reasonably necessary, veterinary care may be sought under the client’s Pet Care Agreement and at the client’s expense.

Important limitations

Arcana Pet Co. is not a veterinary practice, emergency clinic, certified training provider, or behavioral specialist. This page summarizes care standards and does not replace the complete Policies and Pet Care Agreement. In a veterinary emergency when Arcana is not actively caring for your pet, contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary provider.

Questions about your pet’s needs?

Contact Arcana before requesting care if your pet has medical, behavioral, mobility, handling, or access considerations.
